About

Drawn to the drawing board from a very young age, Will Black’s natural talent for illustrating the real and the imaginary has surprised family and friends since his elementary school days. Encouraged by enthusiastic teachers who recognized his potential, high school became a time to experiment with different mediums and explore the boundaries of his creative expression.

An avid traveler and lover of history, art and architecture, Will graduated from the University of Carolina in 2011 with degrees in Fine Art, History, and Art History. Upon graduation from UNC Chapel Hill, he exchanged his home state of North Carolina for the laissez-faire lifestyle of Louisiana. With gorgeous French and Spanish architecture in the historic French Quarter, the mighty Mississippi swinging through the scenery, and an abundance of music, food and costume festivals, New Orleans is a dream come true for any lover of the Arts.

After a short stint in real estate, researching and selling historic plantations along the river, it was in ‘The Big Easy’ that Will returned to his beloved yet somewhat forgotten activity of charcoal drawing. “Two girls dancing in the rain” was trusted to paper, soon to be followed by a variety of commission requests from the United States, Europe, and Australia.
